You will meet Olly and Rugan after defeating the Gnolls on the Risen Road. They will introduce themselves as part of the Zhentarim group. If you are unfamiliar with them, you know this group as the Black Network. They are a bunch of villainous mercenaries, like the overworld mafia. You can help them deliver a special chest to their hideout, or loot it. You can also take the chest to Baldur’s Gate instead, so these mercs can get their deserved punishment.
Deliver the Chest
Delivering the chest to the hideout will open up more quest opportunities for the group later on. You will also get a quest to free Oskar Fevras if you choose this route. Besides this, you also have the option to deliver the chest to Baldur’s Gate. Doing so will reward you and the two mercs with gold. But if you pass through this route, Olly will be killed and Rugan will be tortured when they return to Zhentarim.
Loot the Chest
If you return the chest to Zhentarim already unlocked, the rest of the group will turn hostile and try to kill you. This will lock you out of all related quests to the group. You will be able to unlock the Iron Flask found inside the chest, but a huge creature will emerge. The Spectator boss will be tough to battle, and there is a chance of killing Olly and Rugan. Defeat the creature to get rewards like XP and gold.
