Blackbeard’s Treasure is a quest side mission in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in which players can trace the last clues from the famous pirate. Rather than taking players to a chest filled with gold, the mission leads them through pirate fights, an underwater passage, and even a smuggler’s cave to discover the real intention behind the treasure. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to start the quest, where to find the treasure, and how to complete it.
Blackbeard’s Treasure Quest
Before starting the Blackbeard’s Treasure quest, you have to play through the rest of the game’s storyline up to the sequence named “Do Not Go Gently”, which is Sequence 08. At the end of the mission, you will see Edward Kenway who is sitting alone at the beach. Edward retrieves his hat from Blackbeard and finds a map named Blackbeard’s Treasure Map. On this map, there are two X marks: one near Kingston, Jamaica and another in a cave with barrels.
Blackbeard’s Treasure Location
To find Blackbeard’s Treasure, go to Anotto Bay, which can be found at 591,243. There, you will see several pirate ships nearby. Eliminate all the pirates’ ships in order to navigate freely. After you have done so, look around the area above water. You will see that some smugglers escaped from the pirates by using underwater passages.
Then, find the wreckage of the diving bell and submerge yourself in the water. On your way through the passages, you will find several jellyfish at the beginning of the old mining passage. Avoid getting too close to them. Continue swimming along the passages, and eventually you will be attacked by a shark. Follow the prompt on the screen in order to avoid the shark, and you will soon reach the surface in the smugglers’ hideout.
Reaching the Smugglers’ hideout
A couple of pirates are hiding inside; hence, it would be wise to kill them first and then proceed to the next step. After killing the enemies, you will have to pick up one of the red explosive barrels and transport it to the collapsed wall. Place the barrel down, get some distance away and shoot the barrel using your pistol; it will explode, opening a new path.
Enter the new route and kill all the enemies in this cave, which has a lot of water in it. After killing all the enemies in this cave, pick up another red barrel and transport it to the wall which is blocking your way. Shoot the barrel, and it will blast the wall, which will then lead you to a cutscene.
In the cutscene, Edward and others will open the treasure box, and instead of finding any gold or jewellery, they will find some tools. Also, Blackbeard writes a note which explains why he kept those things for Edward to use and rebuild his house in Great Inagua.
