Lethal Company is one of the fewest games that has taken Steam to storm within a few hours after its early access started. As a co-op horror game, this game has taken things to a new height. It has introduced new elements to make the game challenging to the players, and weather conditions are one of them. From the beginning, enemies already await every step to give a hard time. But that’s not it; even different weather conditions impact the moons to make it further challenging. If you are unsure about the weather effects in Lethal Company, this guide will help you with it.
Lethal Company Weather Effects Explained- How To Handle?
When you first start playing the game, you probably expect the creatures to be the most formidable enemies and bosses. But that’s not it. They are still easier to deal with than the weather effects. If you are playing Lethal Company, let me tell you, weather effects can be the ultimate bosses in the game.
The game has five weather conditions- Flood, Stormy, Foggy, Raining and Eclipse. Below, we have discussed all in detail:
Flood
This is probably the toughest weather effect in Lethal Company. This effect is dangerous as it rises over time. When you first land on a flooded moon, you see the water slowly build up. As time passes, the water level will rise to an extent where everything goes under the water. You can temporarily save yourself by taking shelter inside a building, but once you are out, you will probably find yourself in the water.
As it is difficult to predict when the water level will rise and how it will capture the entire map, making your way of leaving close, it is better not to land on a flooded moon. If you can see a moon with the effect, it is best to avoid it.
Stormy
This is still better than the flood. Players can survive in stormy weather as it won’t flood the entire map and drown them. However, don’t get overwhelmed, as the storm has other difficulties. Stormy weather has lightning, and that randomly strikes locations. Even the metal gadgets that players carry can attract lightning.
So, if you have any metal item in your inventory, it is best to drop it and run away. Well, you must run away as the lightning strikes have a large area of effect. Also, lightning can hit twice, so don’t pick up the item immediately after the first strike.
Foggy
Fog is the most straightforward weather condition to survive unless you encounter the Forest Giant. If these creatures spawn, the condition rapidly changes as they can see you through the fog and even from a distance. But you can’t spot them unless you hear the roar.
While the flashlight also fails to manage this situation, your only option is to have a friend on the ship as a navigator. Though you can’t see anything beyond 2 feet in the fog, your friend can direct you through the proper ways. Also, he can spot the Forest Giants to warn you about their locations.
Raining
Another deadly weather condition is rain. The fog only reduces the visibility, but rain can spawn mud and quicksand. The quicksand is a dangerous weather effect, especially if players are low in stamina. It can be deadly if you can’t run or jump out of it.
If you are exploring a rainy moon during day time, you can easily identify the thick coating of sand that is quicksand. Players must avoid it. However, things drastically change during the night as the visibility gets low. So, if carrying heavy loot or having low stamina, players can get stuck into it.
Eclipse
This is the scariest weather condition in the game. During the eclipse, the moon is covered in darkness. While the other conditions create some obstacles, this effect increases several enemies’ spawn rate. For example, Sandworms can spawn in pairs, Eyeless Dogs roam the world, and even Forest Giants create trouble.

While you can’t stop this weather effect, it is best to avoid it. If you find a moon is having an eclipse, it is better not to explore the moon at that time. Though you can try to explore and enjoy the challenge, that’s risky. Players can use their shovel and stun grenades to fight the enemies. But these moons won’t give you valuable loot in return.
These are all the weather effects in Lethal Company and how to deal with them without getting attacked by enemies or trapped.
