In A Warrior’s Honor in Gothic 1 Remake, you’ll help fulfill an ancient orcish tradition to earn the trust of Ur-Nazkrog and gain access to the Sleeper Temple. This guide explains how to start the quest, complete Grazkrak’s burial rite, and unlock the temple while earning valuable experience rewards.

How to Start the Quest

You’ll need to start by going to the southwest of Old Camp where Krashok and Umakhal are guarding the entrance of a cave. Go inside and you’ll find Ur-Nazkrog near a cauldron. She’ll ask you whether you’ve come for Krushak and give you directions on finding him in the demon summoner’s tower. Talking with her will reveal how they want you to open the temple. She’ll give you hints on how she had a dream where a morra warrior “shaped life from death,” and with that, you’ll be handed over with your main objective.

Speaking with Ur-Shak

Now exit the cave and make your way to the Colony to find a way inside the Sleeper Temple. Once you’ve reached the marked location, you’ll come across Ur-Shak. Engage in conversation with him and tell him about Ur-Nazkrog’s dream and what she believes you’re capable of doing.

He’ll tell you how it seems like Ur-Nazkrog wants you to perform the burial rites on Grazkrak, who’s the warrior you killed to prove you’re worthy of the Ulu-Mulu. Ur-Shak will explain everything about how if an orc dies in an honorable duel, it’s the duty of the one who crushed him to bring the zarr back into his lifeless body which basically translates to “shape life from death.” With this information, you’ll be on your own to find the answers to Ur-Nazkrog’s dream.

Finding Grazkrak’s Body to Complete the Rite

Ur-Shak will direct you to go to the pillar of lore near the fighting grounds. You’ll need to go there, read about the rite, and then find Grazkrak’s body to perform the rite. You’ll need to use the tunnel in the ordôkh that will lead you to the fighting grounds. Exit the area and go towards the tunnel.

Once you’re inside the ordôkh, follow a straight path until you come across two statues which will help you gather information about the rite. Go right from there and you’ll come across another pair of statues. From here, you’ll need to go left, and you’ll come across a room with an orc named Umosh inside it.

He’ll be blocking you from going forward and telling you that the place is forbidden, especially for you. Upon asking why the place is forbidden to you, he’ll explain that this is the place where the Warrior Grazrak waits for his last rest and he’s the one you killed to get the Ulu-Mulu.

You’ll need to tell him that you’re here to “shape life from death” but he won’t listen to you.

Finding Another Way to Access Grazrak & Performing the Rite

In the same room, you’ll find a path on the left which you’ll need to take. Then take another left and another, keep going until you come across a room with a path on the right side that’ll lead you to the grounds. There, you’ll come across Chokta who’ll tell you to go away because you’re the killer of Grazkrak. He’ll be surprised to see that you speak their tongue and ask you whether you know how to wield an orcish blade. Ask him if he’s offering to teach you and he’ll agree.

Now, run around the ground and collect Orc Spores to learn everything. Then, go back to the room from where you came from, backtrack a little and you’ll come across some candles and an etching on the wall from which you’ll need to learn. There’s another such room on the left which you’ll need to check out as well. Once done, go back to Umosh and tell him that you’re here to turn Grazkrak’s dead flesh into new life according to the custom. Tell him what Ur-Shak and Ur-Nazkrog have told you, and he’ll let you go to Grazkrak.

Once you’ve performed the rite, go back to Ur-Nazkrog and tell her that you’ve done as she has asked you to and shaped life from death. Inform her that the corpse flowers now grow from Grazkrak’s flesh. She’ll be happy that the dream has come true and will let you access the temple, thus completing the quest. You’ll also gain 700+ experience for this.
