On September 22, beta access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was made available for Xbox and PC gamers, and players have reported graphic difficulties. The Xbox and PC player base has been vocal about their dissatisfaction with the game’s lack of clean visuals, and they have been looking for solutions to this problem.
How to Fix Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Texture Glitch and Blurry Graphics
The general visuals of the game are affected by a few crucial settings that are enabled by default. The settings tab for Modern Warfare 2 may be accessed from the main menu by clicking the gear icon in the top left corner. After that, head on down to the graphics section, which is where you’ll find the settings to fix the blurriness in the game.
Before doing anything else, head to the “Details and Textures” menu and toggle “On-Demand Texture Streaming” on, then increase the size of the texture cache to its maximum. This will also help to disable download limitations, which will allow local texture updates to take place in-game. Reduce blur by adjusting the next setting under Details and Textures in Post-Processing Effects. The “World Motion Blur” and “Weapon Motion Blur” options should both be turned off. This option is one of the most significant contributors to blur, as it causes the weapon and environment to blur as the player moves to mimic movement.
Check Render Resolution
One of the main reasons, Modern Warfare 2 may appear blurry is because of the game’s default Display Resolution Scaling. Mine was set to default at 33, which made my game appear blurry and not up to the standard my hardware supported. I set the Render Resolution to 100, and the game was my resolution again. You can find this setting in the Graphics Settings > Quality Preset.
Turn Down Film Grain and Brightness
Below the motion blur setting is the film gain setting, which can be adjusted to improve the blurriness and texture glitch. This film grain has a default value of 0.25, which should be decreased to zero or 0.05 to remove the grain from the display. There are various visual options available, and the ones selected will vary depending on the player’s preferences and the level of sophistication of their gaming rig (PC or Xbox). You can also turn down the brightness to improve the visuals further.
Turn on On-Demand Texture Streaming
If you are having issues with MW2 texture and MW2 appears blurry, you would want to enable the On-demand Texture Streaming. This feature was introduced to reduce the size of games, and it’s evident as MW2 on the PS5 is 150 Gbs, while on PC, its 72 Gbs. If you have a good PC and have enough storage, enable this option and set the bandwidth and cache limit to high.
Disable World Motion Blur and Weapon Motion Blue
The game can be blurry if you have these settings enabled in the Graphics Settings menu. So, go to the settings and disable both of these. You can watch our video on how all these steps can be performed.
