If you want to provide your FOB with fuel in War Dogs, then making a drill rig is among the top methods for this purpose. This is because with this method, you will be able to extract fuel from the ground, so that there is no fear of exhaustion when using any type of vehicle. But you require the appropriate hammer for the job. In this guide, we’ll show you how to build and use a drill rig in War Dogs.

How to Build a Drill Rig

The drill rig is an ideal tool that you can use to supply your FOB with fuel. All you have to do is build the drill rig so that your crew will get an unlimited amount of fuel from that FOB without refilling the fuel supply. In order to build the drill rig, you first require a Large Hammer. If you are not at Support Level 8, you can obtain one from a FOB or a supply crate.

How to Use a Drill Rig

After you get the hammer, press Right Click to get the building menu. Then, press F until you see the Drill Rig and place it where you would like to build it. Once it is placed, press Left Click to begin building the drill rig. You should hit all the yellow X marks around the construction site to efficiently build your rig. Building the drill rig takes some time, so you should stay near it and continue building until the Drill Rig is complete.

After you have constructed the drill rig, it will start drilling for oil for your FOB. This means that your FOB will get an unlimited fuel supply, which allows you to refuel your vehicles without the risk of running out of fuel. All types of vehicles can use the fuel supply from your FOB, which makes it even more useful if your team uses many vehicles.

What does the Drill Rig Do

The Drill Rig, also called the Oil Rig, has an important job besides supplying fuel. Placing a Drill Rig will also guarantee that the Hot Zone gets pulled towards your base. This exceptional structure is capable of holding the objective circle all around your FOB for an easy win. That is, if you feed it ample fuel to keep it going.

Each Drill Rig has a particular cooldown period after the construction and after pulling the Hot Zone, so it is recommended to construct several Drill Rigs around your FOB. The cooldown lasts 30 minutes, and having just one rig runs a huge risk of enemies overtaking your base and taking the objective for themselves.

In short, keep the fuel going, build several drill rigs, and keep track of the Hot Zone to pull it towards your FOB.
