The Mysterious Instruction in The Blood of Dawnwalker leads to a hidden cave containing valuable loot, but reaching it requires more than following a map marker. It is a task that requires gathering eight Manumit papers across Svartrau City and employing particular expressions from each piece of paper to find the solution. Below is a detailed guide on solving the puzzle and claiming the rewards.
How to Get the Mysterious Instruction
The Mysterious Instruction can appear in a Manumit cache, on the northern side of Svartrau near the Curious House symbol, or east of Neustadt.
For the Neustadt location, start at Silberstein Shrine, head west, and look for a ledge to the southwest. Jump across, drop down, and search the stash below for the note.
Solving the Mysterious Instruction
As soon as you get all eight necessary papers, the only thing left is an exercise in counting words. Each paper has a specific position in the sequence, and the instruction tells you whether to count from the beginning or the end. The sequence of the papers is as follows:

Finding the Eight Papers
All eight pieces of the paper have been tucked away in Manumit caches scattered throughout the Svartrau city. However, an essential requirement before you can access these papers is the green book Searching for Manumit Caches. This book can be randomly obtained from soldiers, and one of the sources for the book is a guard in the city. After you’ve acquired the book, search for these eight pieces of paper:
- St. Benezet: Southwest of Silberstein, inside a crate surrounded by potted plants.
- St. Cuthbert: Near the Cathedral Complex entrance, beneath a rock beside the stairs. A rebel symbol is painted on the nearby wall.
- St. Tobias: In Altenmarkt, south of the Medic shop, hidden inside a wall tile.
- St. Mihai: North of Altenmarkt, near the blacksmith, inside a small wall alcove.
- St. Gregory: Southwest of the North West Gate, underneath a rock at the top of a short staircase.
- St. Teotim: Southwest of the St. Gregory cache, near a group of thugs.
- St. Tyna: West of Neustadt, at the end of an alley.
- St. Anthony: North of Svartrau West Shrine, inside a hay cart.
Focus Mode can help reveal the less obvious caches. Another hidden cache is situated beneath a rock on the steps close to the Svartrau North East Shrine, near the St. Tobias location. This stash can yield money, equipment, and a potion, although it doesn’t belong to the eight puzzle papers.
Reaching the Hidden Cave
When the phrase has been decoded, proceed to the Sandy Gorge Shrine. Then go in the north-westerly direction until you arrive at the river. After that, walk in the west direction to reach the waterfall near the Great Bridge.
The passage is hidden behind the waterfall, after entering the cave, you should search the containers and the skeleton’s body for the rewards.
The cave has Black Knight Greaves, a Woodland Knightly Longsword, Lizard Skin Loafers, Second Skin II, and Perfect Riposte guidebooks. Furthermore, you can find some silver valuables there, which can be used to earn Denarii. The main prize is Arbiter’s Medallion, which is a legendary amulet.
The cave can be discovered without solving the puzzle, therefore finding it during exploration does not require you to have decoded the note first.
