In Mortal Shell 2, the Grisha Pup quest takes place in the optional encounter in the Mushroom Village. Completing the quest is beneficial since it comes with some useful rewards and impactful choices. To save the Grisha Pup, you must first deal with the Grisha hunter and purchase the items you need. Here’s how to find the pup, free it, and continue its quest.
Grisha Pup Location
You can find the Grisha Pup in Mushroom Village, which is north of Marrow’s Keep and located next to the Hall of Illusions. To get there, go from the first Beacon of this area to the left and pass through the gate. Once you go inside, you will see the cage of the pup and a Grisha Hunter who acts as the merchant there.
Buy the Hunter’s Items First
You must firmly establish how many items you wish to purchase from the Grisha Hunter before unlocking the cage, which includes the Cage Key, Grisha Remnant, Weltcap, and Common Moonshine.
It’s advisable to acquire the Grisha Remnant before you release the pup. If you have already collected it, there will be no need to leave it behind after the battle against Mother Grisha. When you have bought all the desired items, apply the Cage Key to let the Grisha Pup go, or blow the lock, while being careful and preparing to either run away or fight them.
What Happens After Freeing the Grisha Pup
When you let the pup go, make sure to rest at the nearby Beacon and head back to camp. You will find Mother Grisha there with her pup, who will not let things escalate any further.
It is still possible to attack Mother Grisha. You will be rewarded with a Grisha Remnant for defeating her, but this battle is not needed if you’ve already bought the Remnant from the hunter.
The Grisha Pup will also provide you with the ability to use the Sheephead Totem. This totem has both an active and passive skill, the latter reducing the maximum health of enemies by 1%.
Return to the Grisha Pup Later
The Grisha Pup can also grant you some more rewards later on. Revisiting it later in your playthrough will award you Glimpses, which can be redeemed for Shell improvement purposes. Therefore, the Grisha Pup is worth visiting after you have gone through the initial encounter.
