Early in the game, Koo can unlock the Torch skill which grants his attacks a fire attribute, leading to the Burn status effect and additional damage over time in the game. However, acquiring the skill isn’t the end of the process; to be able to fully utilize it, Koo needs to equip it first.
How to Unlock the Torch Skill
The adventure towards acquiring the Torch skill commences straight away following your interaction with the robot. Exit the initial zone and turn towards the right while making your way into the ravine.
Upon reaching a certain drop on the path, jump down and move ahead. Shortly after, you will encounter your first enemy robot. You can optionally defeat the enemy or keep on moving ahead.
Continue on the path ahead while crossing the vine sections. After the vine section crossings, keep going to the right and eventually, you will come across another robot that has got a burning weapon in the form of a spear. This is the enemy you need to face. Beat the spear holding robot to get access to the manual of the Torch skill.
Equipping the Torch Skill
After obtaining the manual, open the equipment menu and switch to Koo’s skill section. Equip Torch to enable the skill. Until it’s equipped, Koo won’t gain any of its effects in battle.
Torch Skill Effects
Torch is a type of passive ability that allows Koo to significantly enhance the damage dealt by his attacks without using any special ability to activate. When equipped, it will modify all attacks made by Koo to become fire-based that will inflict extra damage to enemies, thanks to the Burn effect.
Because Koo is constantly attacking on his own during combat, he will keep dealing damage through Burn without requiring any additional action from the player’s side. Thus, Torch can be considered a very useful upgrade in the early stages of the game, especially when fighting against enemies that can endure longer battles.
