While Ciphers can theoretically appear throughout the map of Gyldenmist, there are some locations known for getting these items. Brandgarde is considered to be one of the prime places for farming while Hallowgrove can also be a reliable place, especially when one goes for the Einherjar Ship Grave and Supreme Hall. For this reason, the final phase of the expedition process is often one of the most dangerous phases of the entire journey. When you already have several Ciphers in your possession, it is usually better to extract the Ciphers as opposed to diving into the search for additional loot.
Deciphering Golden Ciphers
The Decipher feature allows you to use successfully deciphered Ciphers back at camp. Each successful deciphering gives you a chance to receive rewards.
Moreover, there are bonuses for reaching milestones in deciphering. For example, every 10 deciphered Ciphers earns you additional rewards such as character skins, emojis, or weapon boxes. The reward system also has a pity mechanic that allows players to continue progressing even during unlucky streaks.
