How to Start the Quest
To start the Much Ado About Mechanisms quest, you’ll need to start by going a little towards the northeast of Mohist City in Hidden Mountain Suixiang. Once you’re at the marked location in the garden, you’ll find Qiu Yi and Wei Jing standing in front of their mechanisms Invincible Perpetual Chicken and Supreme Soaring Ink Yuan.
Go and interact with Wei Jing and he’ll tell you that his mechanism is the best while Qiu Yi believes his is the best. This is where you’ll need to settle the debate between them.
How to Settle the Debate Between Wei Jing & Qiu Yi
To settle the debate between both Wei Jing and Qiu Yi, you can choose two options:
- To let Qui Yi win, use a fire arrow to burn Wei Jing’s Invincible Perpetual Chicken.
- To let Wei Jing win, take out the core of Qui Yi’s Supreme Soaring Ink Yuan.
This will help settle the debate between the two, and you’ll get the rewards regardless of whom you choose to support.
Note: You can disguise yourself as Elder Shrike too, and then talk to both Wei Jing & Qiu Yi to end their debate. This too, will count towards quest completion. You can collect Elder Shrike’s outfit at the Confluence Gazebo. Draw his portrait to get his disguise. This skill of collecting disguises is unlocked after completing the Disguise: Veil of Love quest in Kaifeng.
