The Forged Rivalries quest in Gothic 1 Remake will have you recovering the Royal Design of the weapons, convincing Stone to make you another hammer, and bringing this hammer back to Darrion at the Swamp Camp. This guide will detail each objective that is necessary to complete this quest from beginning to end.

How to Start Forged Rivalries

Once you have completed The Templar’s Blade, you will be able to pick up Forged Rivalries through Darrion at Swamp Camp. Darrion requests your assistance to resolve the conflict with Stone by finding an old weapon design and persuading the blacksmith to create a new hammer for Stone.

Steal the Royal Weapon Design

Travel to the Old Camp and head to the castle. The item you need is inside a treasure chest located in the throne room near Gomez’s throne.

Go into the castle without facing Raven, and then go through the halls to get to the throne room by way of the kitchen. If you cannot get through normally, use a Meatbug transformation scroll to sneak inside the castle and then change back to your human form.

Open the treasure chest, which is locked at a Difficulty 1 level, and obtain the Royal Weapon Design by looting the treasure chest. Once you have obtained the Royal Weapon Design, you can exit the castle in the same way that you entered.

Give the Weapon Design to Stone

Find Stone working in the Old Camp courtyard and hand him the Royal Weapon Design. After examining it, Stone says he needs the following materials to forge the weapon:

  • Five Steel Bars
  • Two Ironwood Shafts
  • Two Iron Bands
  • Two Leather Strips

Instead of providing the materials, you can pay Stone 1,000 nuggets, and he will gather everything himself. After paying him, Stone tells you to return the following day.

Speak with Stone after waiting until the next day. Stone will have completed forging your weapon, a one-handed hammer capable of doing 51 damage.

Return to Darrion

Return to the Swamp Camp and show the hammer to Darrion, who after examining it will be pleased with your work and will tell you how to forge your own Warhammer. At this point he will take the hammer from your inventory. With this, you will complete the Forged Rivalries quest.
