The Stranger is one of the many secret quests in the Gothic 1 Remake game, which takes the player on a journey through the Colony to find six Chromanin books hidden throughout the land. Finding each book will give the player hints about where the next book is located, helping him unravel the mysteries surrounding the quest. The books can be found in hazardous locations like the Fog Tower, Old Camp, and Mountain Fortress, among others. The Stranger Quest
The Stranger is a secret quest that involves you finding six Chromanin Books that are distributed across the Colony. Upon finding all six Chromanin Books, you will gain access to an area that contains lots of valuables.
Chromanin Book 1 – Fog Tower
Your journey starts from the Fog Tower. Enter the tower and travel down to the underground tunnels within. Go further, and you will come across a chamber where you can find the Skeleton Mage. Beat him up and collect the Chromanin book.
Chromanin Book 2 – Near the New Camp
The second Chromanin book can be found near the lake, outside New Camp. Go to the other side of the lake and try to find an isolated little hut. Go inside this hut, and you will see the second book there.
Chromanin Book 3 – Mountain Fortress
The third book will be found at the Mountain Fortress, which is also the same place where you helped Lester retrieve the Focus Stone. Travel to the location following the path at the Mountain Fortress and head to the room with the chest that typically contains the Royal Guard armour. The third Chromanin book is lying nearby.
Chromanin Book 4 – Old Camp Dungeon
Book four will be found in the Old Camp dungeon, which will be in the Inner Ring. It is recommended that players find this book early on in the game.
Chromanin Book 5 – Ruined Fortress
The location of the fifth book is the Ruined Fortress, which is situated near Xardas’ Tower and the Mountain Fortress. You will need to look out for the big bell mechanism and drop it down to clear a path for yourself ahead. Continue through the newly accessible area and deal with the Stone Golem guarding the passage. Beyond it, you’ll find the room containing the fifth Chromanin book, along with several other useful treasures.
Chromanin Book 6 – Return to the Fog Tower
When you have retrieved all five books, you will need to go back to the Fog Tower, which is the place from where you had started this quest. The final and sixth book of Chromanin can be found here, and after reading it, you will come across some Skeletons. Upon completion of this task, you will be rewarded with a secret room, which will be unlocked for you to use without having to perform any additional actions.
