Gothic 1 Remake includes rubies that can either be kept or sold and are a hidden treasure obtainable during early game. There is an underwater cave where you can get a ruby and other valuable items located right next to the New Camp. This guide contains information on how to locate the underwater cave and retrieve the items inside.
Head to the Waterfall Near the New Camp
To find ruby fast in the early game, begin at the New Camp, head to the mining site that is close to a hut, and go to the waterfall in that area on the left.
While most waterfalls can be accessed from behind, this particular waterfall cannot be. Instead, you must use an underground cave located near the base of the waterfall.
Locate the Underwater Cave
Walk down the path to where you can see the training dummies are set up (you may see some people fighting there). Go through the small archway and stay along the wall before jumping into the water. If you don’t follow the wall, you may hit the rocks below whilst jumping.
When you get in the water, dive underneath the surface. Swim towards the right from the waterfall and you will find an entrance to an underwater cave. You can pop your head up above the surface to restore your breath before continuing your journey.
Search the Hidden Chamber
Continue swimming through the cave until you reach a small chamber at the other end with a few items like torches. Search the corpse you’ll find inside the cave and you’ll get a Ruby, an Essence of Magic Energy, and an Ore Nugget.
You may want to keep the Ruby to use as a crafting item, or you can sell it depending on your preference.
