A scanner is probably the very first and most useful tool you can build in Subnautica 2. You can use it to scan different types of flora and fauna, as well as technological debris, to get some blueprints. As there are many recipes and upgrades which become available after scanning, getting this item early will help you progress faster. In this guide, we will show you how to craft the Scanner and where to find all the materials needed, including Titanium, Quartz, and the components required to make a Basic Battery.

How to Craft a Scanner

You can craft the Scanner from any Fabricator, provided that all materials needed have been collected by you. In order to craft it, you will require two Titaniums, two Quartzes, and one Basic Battery. Collecting the materials, you only have to visit the Fabricator and go into the Tools tab in order to construct the Scanner. With this device, you will be able to scan different organisms and pieces of technology to acquire new blueprints.

How to Get Titanium

Titanium is a very important resource in Subnautica 2, which is needed not only for simple items but also for building large structures within bases. Moreover, titanium is one of the first resources that you get when you start playing the game. To know more, read our guide on “How to Get Titanium in Subnautica 2”.

How to Get Quartz

One of the simplest methods of getting Quartz is looking for it within Coral Domes, which are the huge orange circular shapes of coral that can be seen all over the shallow waters around your Lifepod. The Coral Domes nearly always contain many Quartz fragments, thus providing a good location for harvesting this mineral.

How to Get a Basic Battery

The Basic Battery can be crafted by using two units of copper and one Acidic Raion Pouch at any available Fabricator. Copper can be obtained easily from the walls of underground caverns. To get an Acidic Raion Pouch, look for Acid Raion and harvest one of their pouches with your tool. Once you have these materials, return to the Fabricator and craft the Basic Battery.
