Farming in Windrose may be the easiest way of securing a continuous source of resource. You don’t have to waste your time constantly moving about searching for the necessary materials because you can produce them directly from your base location. While the game doesn’t explain farming very clearly at first, it’s actually quite simple once you understand the basics. With the right setup, you can save time, stay prepared, and make your overall gameplay much smoother.

How to Build Farm

To build Farm, you’ll need seedbeds but the game doesn’t clearly explain how to get them. To unlock seedbeds, you need to progress the story until you defeat the first boss and reach the Foothills region. In this area, look for places called Ancient Villages. These spots have fertile soil that you can mine with a pickaxe. Once you collect it, you’ll unlock the seedbed blueprint, which lets you grow most crops at your base.

Not every plant needs a seedbed some, can be planted directly in the ground. As you explore, always keep an eye out for seeds when harvesting crops. Once you have them, bring them back and plant them. Make sure your seedbeds are placed properly above the ground.

If they’re partially covered, you won’t be able to plant anything on them. When placing your farm, try to keep everything close together. Harvesting crops is a manual process you have to walk up and collect each one so having a compact setup saves a lot of time and effort.

How to Farm in Windrose

After your seed beds are prepared, you can start planting seeds that have been gathered while exploring the area. Simply pick the seeds that you want to plant and put them in the prepared soil. Plants require 70 minutes of real time to fully mature. It will take them several stages to fully mature, however, they will mature at once.

During the harvesting process, you will get the item that you have planted as well as, the seed but rarely enough to support your crop-growing activities. This means that you will still need to explore the environment.

Unlike regular crops, plants such as the banana tree and lime tree cannot be planted in the soil at your farm. Plant these items directly on the ground next to the farm, and ensure there is enough spacing between them.
