Ancient Scraps are one of those resources you’ll start needing a lot once you reach the later parts of Windrose. Even though they’re fairly common, they play a big role in helping you craft better materials and upgrade your gear. If you want to keep progressing, learning where to find them and how to use them is very important. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to farm Ancient Scraps and what you can do with them.

How to Get Ancient Scraps

Ancient Scraps are available inside the third biome in the Cursed Swamps. The best places to collect them are ruined swamp settlements, ancient ruins, and dig sites. Such spots will always contain some metals that you can mine. It is recommended that you take an Iron Pickaxe with you to these locations.

The next thing to consider doing is placing a Fast Travel Bell near the entrance to the swamp. In this way, you can travel out of the swamp to get more materials, then return to your location quickly.

How to Use Ancient Scraps

After collecting a sufficient number of Ancient Scraps, you can craft Mire Metal Ingots at a Large Smelting Furnace. To create one, you need two Ancient Scraps and one Quagmire Powder. Once you begin crafting Mire Metal Ingots, many crafting recipes will become available.

The source of Quagmire Powder is the Cursed Swamps biome, and it is obtained by defeating plague-themed enemies. While farming for Quagmire Powder, prioritise defeating plague enemies such as Plague Witches, Plague Hunters, Plague Warriors, and Plague Thralls because they constantly drop this material.

You can unlock the Enchanting Table, upgrade your armour and clothing, and improve stations. The Mire Metal Ingot is a unique metal crafted using ancient iron with a mysterious origin. It is one of the most important resources for crafting, and you will get it later in the game.
