Most of the quests in Where Winds Meet just cruise along without incident, but March of the Dead is a different story altogether. What starts as a simple act of kindness quickly goes sideways, plunging you into the creepy Ghostlight Market beneath Kaifeng. Instead of the typical lively stalls, you step into poisonous fog, drifting lanterns, and the restless spirits of fallen soldiers.
If you are stuck trying to track down the three missing items for the quest, this guide walks you through each location step by step.
Armor Location
When you get to the haunted version of Ghostlight Market, find Liu Changsheng near the stairs leading up to the street. He requires you to gather for him three items: armour, a helmet, and a spear.
To locate the armour, start from Liu Changsheng and move to the right. Follow the trail of green lanterns until you reach a Boundary Stone and Chang Sheng from Nine Mortal Ways.
From here, just continue onward, past Chang Sheng, until you reach the pier. Turn to the water on your right, and follow the line of green lanterns that drift across the river. They lead into a chest, which rests upon a rock and holds the armour.

Helmet Location
Backtrack to Liu Changsheng’s starting point, then go left this time. Keep going along the path until you find Nan Lugong hiding behind a market stall.
To the right of his stall, there is a narrow path lined with green lanterns. Just follow it – you will come up to a group of ghosts. You do not have to fight them. Behind them is another pier with a wooden platform, and on that platform sits the chest holding the helmet.
If you speak with Nan Lugong afterwards, he will also point you in the direction of the spear.

Spear Location
From Nan Lugong’s stall, head up the stairs just behind him. At the top, turn left, passing the antique book shop on your way, and find a second staircase just ahead, curving left.
- The steps are lined with green lanterns and thus easy to spot.
- Once at the top, turn to the left and pass the big tree with the lighted candles.
- Head straight forward until you find a rope bridge with a ghost in the middle of it.
- Do not cross.
- Take the direct path in front of you until you come up to a cluster of spirits huddled together.
- The chest behind them holds the spear.
Follow the Ghost Procession
Bring all three items back to Liu Changsheng, then equip the full ghost set. The game will guide you through that part. Now wait at the starting point until a ghost procession passes by. Follow the spirits through the marketplace. They will eventually stop near a gathering of ghost soldiers. When they do, continue forward through the stone gate to reach the next area.

Defeat Zhu Yousheng
Inside this vibrant cave is Zhu Yousheng, the founder of the Nine Mortal Ways and the final challenge of this quest. Luckily, this fight is more theatre-like than punishing, so enjoy the show by constantly dodging, parrying, and counterattacking until he falls.
