The sixth chapter of Black Myth: Wukong is a major shift in the game. The battle against the Supreme Inspector is pretty intense and quite unlike other villains players would have fought. Their victory over the mighty foe shall bring them the magical Somersault Cloud, which shall enable them to glide through the sky to discover the beauty of Mount Huaguo.
Once players have gathered Sun Wukong’s powerful armor and weapon, they’ll need to embark on a challenging climb to the summit. There you’ll meet the legendary sage himself-Black Myth: Wukong’s final and strongest boss. The player will have to literally tap into their full abilities to overcome the legend.
How to find the Great Sage’s Broken Shell
When you get to the Keeper’s Shrine, you do not fight the Great Sage’s Broken Shell right away. You’d have to fight the Stone Monkey, a strong enemy in his own right. The battle grows more fierce as Stone Monkey pulls up his clone, so you’re faced with two versus one. However, if you have the Gold Suozi Armor and Jingubang Staff with you, you should be all right in taking them down as well. That would eventually lead to the cutscene to reveal the real boss of this area is Great Sage’s Broken Shell.
How to Defeat Great Sage’s Broken shell
The Great Sage’s Broken Shell is a two-phase boss, meaning its fighting style and tactics will change halfway through the battle. You’ll need to adjust your strategy to defeat it in both phases.
Great Sage’s Broken Shell Phase 1
The initial phase of the boss fight is relatively straightforward. Focus on attacking the Great Sage’s Broken Shell with your strongest attacks, and avoid using spells unless absolutely necessary. Since you have access to all your powers, this phase should be relatively quick.
Great Sage’s Broken Shell Phase 2
The boss fight is much tougher in the second round. You can’t use any powerful relic here, thus losing access to all of your all useful abilities. Be ready for a tough and extended battle.
The Great Sage’s Broken Shell is a formidable opponent because it can use the same powerful spells as you, the Destined One. This includes spells like Immobilize, Ring of Fire, A Pluck of Many, and Rock Solid. Immobilize and A Pluck of Many are especially dangerous and can quickly end the fight if you’re not careful.
The Great Sage’s Broken Shell is dangerous with spells as well as with physical attacks. If you’re too far away, it will throw its weapon at you. It can also hurl its weapon into the ground and climb on top to deliver a devastating attack.
The Great Sage’s Broken Shell tends to use the Somersault Cloud to bluff you up, so you really have no idea where it might go. Dodges are vicious too, as they have high explosion potential from which you can take damage.
Although dodging is important, you also want to make sure you’re inflicting enough damage to the Great Sage’s Broken Shell. Thus, be sure that you’re using spells correctly to counterattack it and weaken it.
Before the battle begins, max the Plantain Fan and capture Great Sage’s Broken Shell, who will then be vulnerable to attacks and not retaliate. When your Qi is fully charged, use the Plantain Fan again to your advantage, and then use the Vessel. This strategy should give you enough time to defeat the Great Sage’s Broken Shell.
