The procedure for unlocking this exotic gun is quite lengthy. You have to enter the post game section of The Final Shape’s campaign and loot all the Pale Heat region chests to obtain Lost Encyption Bits. There are 9 of them to find, after which you can talk to Micah-10 in the Old Tower to obtain the quest Alone in the Dark. Completing the questline will reward you with several exotics and legendary weapons to choose, and one of them is the Khvostov 7G-0X
How to Get Lost Encryption Bits
As mentioned above, there are 9 Lost Encryption Bits to locate around the Pale Heart region. Luckily, they are marked on your map so it shouldn’t be hard to find. You can collect more of them in Micah-10’s quest, and most of them are located at the start or end of a quest. Once you have located the required Encryption Bits, you can return to The Impasse and find a flight of stairs leading to to a door. Go through the door and reach The Divide, after which you have to enter the first door on your right to collect the legendary Khvostov 7G-0X.
Now, to turn it into an exotic, you need to collect Motes of Light. You can locate them in Visions of the Traveler and after defeating the bosses within Overthrow. After picking up the Mote of Primordial Light, head over to The Lost City and enter the tower on the left. Place all 8 Visions of the Traveler in the central area of the tower to spawn a chest. Use the Mote of Primordial Light to open it and get the exotic Khvostov 7G-0X
