The only way you can farm Darkness is by visiting the Chaos realm. These encounters appear randomly as you progress through the game, and you will spot them in almost all regions of the underworld. You might find a dark black hole in the ground that you can enter, and this takes you to the Chaos realm. Entering it will deplete your health by -10 so be prepared for that. Once you reach the Chaos realm, find Chaos and talk to him. He has some boons for you to look at, but you won’t get darkness during the first visit
Rather, you should partake in several runs and explore the Chaos realms whenever you come across them. After a few interactions with Chaos, he might randomly reward you with one Darkness. This is the only way to farm Darkness for now. Since the outcome of getting Darkness is random, you have to perform several runs till you can farm enough for an upgrade.
