In Nightingale, a majority of the food you’ll enjoy comes from plants and land animals. But don’t forget about the treasures of the sea. One awesome feature of this survival game is the ability to go fishing. And let me tell you, the combination of fishing and the game’s gorgeous graphics creates a one of a kind fishing adventure for players. So, let’s dive into the guide on how to fish in Nightingale.

How to Fish in Nightingale

If you want to fish in Nightingale, all you need is a fishing rod. Simply purchase the recipe from an Essence Trader and then craft a Simple Fishing Rod on a Simple Workbench at your home base. Now to craft a fishing rod, you’ll require:

  • 1x Wood Bundle
  • 1x Bones
  • 2x Animal Fibre

To gather the Animal Fibre, you’ll need to craft a Simple Tanning Station. For this, you’ll require: 6x Sticks and 10x Plant Fibre. Once you have crafted a Simple Tanning Station, place 2x Meat to get 2x Animal Fibre.

Once, you have the wood bundle, bones and 2x animal fibre, put them into a Simple Workbench and craft a simple fishing rod. To craft a Simple Workbench, you’ll require: 4x Plan Fibre and 10x Wood Bundle.

Once you have crafted the Fishing Rod, you need to play the Fishing Minigame in Nightingale to catch a fish.

How to Play Fishing Minigame in Nightingale

When you’ve got your fishing rod made, assign it to your action key and go to the nearest body of water to give the fishing minigame a try. You don’t even need to add any bait or extra items to your rod – you can start using it right after crafting. Once you’ve got the Fishing Rod in hand, simply hold down “Left Click” to cast it. And when a fish bites, you’ll see the level and name of the fish pop up.

In order to successfully catch a fish, you’ll have to drain its HP, shown by a red bar. To achieve this, it’s important to maintain the tension on the line as steady as possible by occasionally clicking the left mouse button. Once the fish is hooked, the Tension Bar will pop up at the bottom of the screen.

Keep a close eye on both the Tension and Stamina Bars, and remember to stop reeling when your Stamina runs low. Move your cursor to track the fish and keep the Tension Bar from rising too high.

So, when the fish’s health bar hits zero, it’ll just appear magically in front of you. Go ahead and grab it to store in your inventory. This was all about how to fish in Nightingale. Don’t forget to keep up with the latest gameplay by checking out our other Nightingale guides on the website.
