Just follow the steps below to upgrade your gear score to level 20

Create a simple workbench by collecting x10 Wood Bundle and x4 Plant Fibre
Next create simple tanning station with x6 Sticks and x10 Plant Fibre
Craft straps using the tanning station to create straps and leather using hide
You can get hide by hunting animals and skinning them using the Hunting Knife
After that, create the simple mining pick using the simple workbench. You will require x1 stone block, 1x wood bundle, and x2 straps
You need to go to the Abeyance Forest Realm to get the blueprint for the simple sewing bench

You can get the blueprint from the essence trader located above
As well as the blueprint, you can also purchase hide to craft armor from the essence trader
Build the simple sewing bench using x10 wood bundle, x15 fiber, and x1 bones
Now that you have leather and plant fiber, craft the Tier 1 simple armor set
