To unlock the metal smelter, you require the building materials for it first. The items required are listed below
- Brightcores x15
- Obsidian Slabs x35
- Blast Cores x3
The best way to farm the above materials is to explore the various caves in the Desert Biome. But first you need to prepare yourself. You would require a Rare Pickaxe to break down these items from the caves. Also, you would need heat resistance consumables to help you withstand the hot temperatures. The best cave to go exploring for these items are in the Lava Cave. You have to investigate the large rocks within the biome to find the entrance to the Lava Cave.
Once inside, explore to find lava pools, as you will spot Brightcores next to them. They are orange colored orbs stuck to the walls and can be mined using the rare pickaxe. Obsidian Slabs can be obtained after farming Obsidians and taking them to the Stone Breakers. Obsidians can be found all over the cave’s roof as dark gemstones. You would need stairs or ladders to get up there to mine them. And lastly, for Blast Cores, you need to trigger Lava-Rollers and wait for them to self-destruct to get Blast Cores. Combine all the items at your base to get the Metal Smelter
