You can now access the newest patch 12 update for Sons of the Forest and explore the hidden treasures within the island. You can find some rare artifacts, a new cave, and tons of other rare items. You can now mine ore, but you can’t do it with your ax. You need to find a Pickaxe, which is only possible while exploring the new cave. There is a new cave called Cave F that is included in Patch 12. To find the cave, you can take a look at the image location below.
Before you get down you should have the Rebreather on you, as there are several places where you need to dive underwater. Once you are ready, head down through the rope and make your way to the Enchantment Table blueprint location. This guide will pick up from the blueprint location and will guide you to the pickaxe next. Exit the blueprint area back through the broken wooden barricade and go down the opposite path. The path will slide downwards and will drop you into the water. Equip the Rebreather and dive underwater.
Keep going all the way down till you can find the underwater passage. Go through it and stick to your right at all times. You will soon reach the surface.
Look around to find a broken wooden fence and go through that. Dive into the water and keep swimming underwater till you reach the surface on the other side. You will know you are in the right place when you find hanging corpses.
Keep to your left here and you will come across a ladder. Right beside the ladder is the pickaxe wedged between the Solafite mineral.
