Jeb is the only “representative” of the Company you will see, and it is unclear how long this being has been working for them. You will usually encounter Jeb after landing on the Company moon and taking your scraps to the counter. Ring the bell once and wait for a tentacle to appear and swipe away all your items. If you investigate the counter right after, you won’t spot anything else as Jeb will be long gone. It is unclear what Jeb actually is and how it has been trained to collect scraps given to it by the players.
This entity also has some rules for you, which you can read from the manual. Jeb hates players loitering near the counter, and hates it even more when players ring the bell repeatedly. If annoyed, Jeb will release its spiked red tentacles and grab any player nearby, resulting in instant death. Corpses taken by Jeb this way won’t amount to a sale, so it is best to stay away or make a run for it after selling your scrap.
