Accident is the fourth major storyline quest of Chapter Two of Where Winds Meet, in which things start to go from bad to worse. It begins with a plan to quickly clear one’s name, but then takes a nosedive into the dark side of Kaifeng, in search of the purloined Treasure Basin.
This is a longer-than-average quest for this chapter, mostly because it encompasses the entire Unbound Cavern Campaign series of quests. Following is the whole walkthrough of this quest with some pointers for dealing with some of the harder battles in between.

Accident Quest Walkthrough

Your next destination is South Gate Avenue in Kaifeng. Talk to Big Zhao there, and accompany him to meet up with the group. When you finally assemble with everyone, you will be asked about where you would like to sell your fake copies of the Treasure Basin.
Choosing doesn’t actually make a difference. Regardless of where you go, you still achieve the same objective: sell the basins to mere mortals and stir things up. Once you’re finished with what you were doing, return to Yingying in the Forsaken Quarter.
After counting the coins, you must conceal the bag of Tang coins before the authorities get there. A cut-scene ensues, then, after departing Lord Shi, head back to Granny Turtle’s house to hear Yingying’s tale.
Now you’ll need to search for Granny Turtle on your own, asking nearby ordinary citizens for information about their whereabouts until you meet up with the widow and the soldiers. You’ll need to defeat these soldiers, then chase down Little Fu for a bit. This is followed by an eavesdropping mission, where you’ll hear Lord Shi trying to move the mystery plot along.
At this point, the quest transitions into the Unbound Cavern Campaign.
Unbound Cavern Campaign

Enter the sewer tunnels and speak with the Bell Ringer. Press on until you meet some of the Unbound Cavern, who are threatening a member of the Nine Mortal Ways disciples. A clean headshot will quickly take care of these men. Release the disciple and speak with him, making certain to activate the Boundary Stone before proceeding.
Push through the iron door, defeat the thugs on the other side of it, then unlock the Ghost Revelry Hall door.
Inside, you’ll encounter three waves of adversaries:
- Wave one is composed of basic thugs. These are great for area of effect attacks or shooting them one by one.
- This wave is composed of three Aureate Pavilion enemies. You should prioritise the tallest one who is connected to other members of the group with a green link, protecting them from damage.
- The final wave is where you must employ Tai Chi to destroy the shield of the enemy before completing the battle the normal way.
When you get out of the battle, talk to the woman inside, then go upstairs to the second floor. Walk down the length of the hall until you hear singing behind a door that you can open to trigger the next battle.
Faceless Mini-Boss
There is no special mechanics that you need to work with here. You just need to be patient. Wait for opportunities to dodge, then parry until you manage to do a clean finish, then attack. This is your safest damage opportunity, and trying to attack elsewhere would backfire.
After that, you’ll need to talk to that woman in the corner and then exit through the hallway after you defeat her.

Deeper into the Cavern
This next bit is chock-full of thugs and rats. Clear the room before moving left of the iron grate. You can quickly sprint through some of the rats that appear from here by ducking under the next grate.
Next is another room filled with thugs. Touch of Death is very effective in quickly dealing with them. Head up to the second floor, clear another group of thugs, then question Xiao. It is left to your discretion to decide whether to spare or kill Xiao.
After forcing through the next door, you’ll fall into a room with two Faceless Enemies. While these are weaker than the miniboss, you still need to be careful.
Sneak through the crack into the prison area, where you’ll encounter more Faceless darks. Sneaking is an option, but it is very likely that you’ll end up pulling more than one at once. When that is the case, your safest bet is to parry or activate Assist Deflection to get through this mess.
Complete that, and you’ll progress on to the next boss.
Zhuxie Gule Boss Fight

Zhuxie Gule’s normal attacks are not that hard to defend against, but his special attacks could surprise you.
| Attack | How to Handle It |
| Charging gold attack | Dodge to the side to get out of the way of being knocked off the platform |
| Healing gold attack | Steps back, then shoot the bird with your bow |
During one of the gold attacks, Zhuxie Gule will charge aggressively towards you. If you’re not positioned correctly in this situation, you’ll be knocked right off the platform, resulting in instant death.
In the other, he stands still and smashes his mace while his bird flies out above to heal him. Move back from the mace and shoot the bird to remove the healing effect.
On the positive side, the stagger threshold of Zhuxie Gule is low. This means that many of his attack combos can be disrupted by constant pressure, so playing aggressively is an option if you keep track of the platforms’ edges.

Dao Lord Boss Fight

Defeat Zhuxie Gule, then swim through the tunnel until you collapse, only to wake up on the shore. Move on to get to Dao Lord’s arena. Within the initial phase, Dao Lord relies more on powerful attacks that apply Blind, WG, and destroy target lock.
However, Dao Lord does not have much health, and with some proper parries or combos, you would quickly move through this phase. In phase two, things get a lot more hectic. Dao Lord divides into three smaller versions of himself, each using a unique weapon with distinct attacks.
While each is difficult enough on its own, it is completely feasible to destroy each one singularly by separating them. When they dig tunnels underground, shoot arrows at them as they emerge to weaken and break their attack patterns.
Accessing the Ghost Market

When Dao Lord falls, continue through the cave until you reach the Ghost Market. Find Little Fu hiding in a Strange Barrel, then track the footprints south into the Ghost Market.
You can find Little Shou inside a building. Talk to him, then climb up to the roof via the path before parachuting down to look for Little Lu. Return Little Lu to the building, speak with all three children, and then accompany them to the dock. This ends the Accident quest, preparing for what is to ensue in the story.
