Blind to the World is a quiet, atmospheric side quest buried in the Where Winds Meet region of Qinghe. Where most quests lean hard into heavy combat, this one does not; instead, it relies on its exploration and puzzle-solving elements to create one of the more touching moments you’ll encounter early on in the game.

Your goal here is to help Uncle Tian fulfill a request for a mysterious client of the Evercare Clinic, but the path ahead leads to a hidden cave beneath a lake, and you’ll need to work through a series of tricks to uncover the truth.

Try to open the drainage

After having spoken with Uncle Tian near the lake by Moonveil Mountain, dive into the water. On the bottom, you will see a stone plate with three chains stretching from it. Follow each chain down to where it reaches the mechanisms that control the drainage system of the lake. All three have large levers that can be interacted with. With all three set, the water drains away, revealing the muddy basin below.

Solve the Blind Girl’s Statue Puzzle

With the lake drained, hop down and head towards the huge statue of a blindfolded woman. Speak with Uncle Tian again. Plates around the statue will start to glow. These must be stepped on in the order from the riddle: north, east, south, and west.

Use your map to orient yourself. Start with the plate behind the statue, then circle clockwise. If the sequence is correct, the door to a hidden sanctuary opens beneath the basin. This puzzle is far simpler than the ones you may have solved during the Echoes of Old Battles quest.

Find a Way to the Other Side

Through the entrance, some arrow traps block your way. Change to Fire Arrows, and light the ribbons hanging in front of them to disable the traps. Go forward until you come to a huge cave with a broken bridge.

Check the edge of the cavern for a narrow path along the wall. Follow that route until you reach the far side. The path is pretty simple, but you’ll have to swim through an underwater tunnel before reaching the end. Watch for the blue flowers during this segment. If you touch them, you are temporarily blinded. If you go blind while underwater, look for the very dim path that leads you back to the surface.

Activate the contraption of Stone Gate

After resurfacing, you’ll stand opposite a large stone gate, but it remains sealed until you trigger its mechanism. Head up to the high ground across from the gate and look for a pedestal you can interact with. Touch it to ring the bells above the gate. Once symbols appear above the bells, pull out your bow and shoot the symbols in the same order that the bells sounded.

You have to do this twice in a row before the stone gate opens. Find out what the Lunar Goddess really desires. Beyond the gate is another great cavern surrounded by an underground lake; this was the home of Li Zhenzhen, whom Uncle Tian referred to as the Lunar Goddess. His mission was to replace her eyes, though he believes she no longer wants them. Your task now is to offer her something that speaks to her past. Head down to her living quarters below. You’ll find a Moonlit Flower, the same type that causes temporary blindness.

Pick it, and while you are there, check the nearby table for a Small Blade. Both items count as offerings. Return to Li Zhenzhen above and give her either the flower or the blade. It’s okay to use the Moonlit Flower here. After a brief cutscene, the quest ends. You can also exit the sanctuary by going back to Li Zhenzhen’s room and through the narrow opening in the wall.
