Hidden Mountain is one of the new additions in Where Winds Meet 2.0. The new region includes its own quests and unlockable rewards. Read this guide to know how to unlock Hidden Mountain, go through the main storyline, unlock Gauntlet and Rope Dart, get all three Gauntlet’s Inner Ways, and complete the Changeless Heart quest.
How to Unlock Hidden Mountain
After the launch of Hidden Mountain update, jump into the fresh main story quest.
If you are new to the game, progress through it until you reach Lv. 32 and have unlocked Kaifeng, which takes approximately half an hour. After that, activate Chapter 4 and talk to Yingying, who is next to the staircase. Follow the mechanical bird in the quest to continue.
Later on, you will reach a boat quest. If you want to skip this part, press K and you will be taken to the next part. The deduction session can also be skipped if you desire.
Continue Through the Story
Once you land on the new island, talk to the NPC and uncover the lower part of the Hidden Mountain map. In the course of the plot, you will also build and operate a flying machine. Soon after this, the device will malfunction and crash onto another island.
After the crash, you’ll acquire the Skygrasp Rope Dart weapon, which can serve as a secondary weapon for the Gauntlet.
Complete the Mechanical Cavern
This part of the game takes place inside a mechanical cavern. Here, you will have to solve a series of puzzles about bridge-building.
First, you need to collect anchors and attach them to the correct sides. Then you need to get wooden planks from the NPC to build bridges. Some fire barrels will help you to destroy the stones. After that, reconnect anchors and continue building bridges so that the NPC can go forward.
At one stage, you will see that you have reached a dead end. Return to the NPC and let them go over all the bridges you built. When the NPC arrives at the dead end, a mechanical bridge will appear, allowing you to continue.
Arrive at Hidden Mountain
When the mechanical cave is out of the way, you will reach Hidden Mountain. Check your map and proceed to the fire camp. Afterward, make your way to the island’s center and speak to the NPC to unlock the map.
It’s possible that only a section of Hidden Mountain is open in the current update, while the rest of the region will be added later.
Unlock the Gauntlet and Two Inner Ways
To acquire the martial arts book for the Gauntlet, simply access the Martial Arts menu, go to Gauntlet, press the Obtain button, and get your hands on the book.
After that, purchase the other Inner Way books for the Gauntlet. Finally, return to the menu and the martial art of the Gauntlet along with its Core Inner Way will automatically be unlocked when you get the Gauntlet. Use the two books you purchased to unlock the remaining two Inner Ways.
How to Unlock the Final Gauntlet Inner Way
To gain the final Inner Way, finish the Changeless Heart. Head towards the tomb found at the center of Hidden Mountain, find the designated bridge, jump off it, activate the teleportation feature close to the bridge, and talk to the NPC to begin the underwater section.
Make use of the submarine to dive deep into the sea, where you must navigate between the submarines to replenish your breath and use the different machines to turn the bridges, operate the anchors, and solve the puzzles of the environment by using the available devices and exploring the different parts of the underwater section.
Get all the important books you find in one of the rooms, such as the quest book. To save time, use the map to teleport to one of the teleportation points located outside of the area, and then press K to go back to the quest area. The water will still be raised, allowing you to continue from the higher position. Proceed through the remaining puzzles until you are able to face the boss encounter.
Defeat the Final Boss
The last confrontation features a puppet boss fighting in two phases. After you defeat the boss, head up to the stairs, press K to get back to the surface, and give your items to the two NPCs. Completing these steps of the quest will unlock the last Gauntlet Inner Way.
