As the Alone in the Dark (2023) demo starts, players will find them playing as a little girl who is painting a mask. After the introductory cutscene, as you come out of the room, you will see a corridor with two doors on two sides. The right side door is the exit which will be closed as you approach it. So, the left side door is the way to progress, but it is locked, and you need to find the key.
To find the key, go to the right side of the corridor, and you will find another door on the right side. Open the door, and you will meet a new character, Jeremy, working on something on his typewriter. A cutscene will begin where our protagonist promises to post Jeremy’s letter to his relative.
To post the letter, players need to go to Clerk’s Office in the basement area, and for that, they must open the locked door in the corridor. As the cutscene ends, roam around Jeremy’s room, and on the table next to the typewriter, you’ll find the key to open the locked door.
Pick up the key and leave the room, go to the locked door, and it will be opened, taking you to a dark, creepy world.
