If you’ve begun creating armor in Dune: Awakening, then you’ve likely already come across a roadblock: Plasteel Microflora Fiber. It appears in a few different armor schematics, but because it’s not something you can simply mine on the ground like Copper or Iron, you might be wondering where to find it.
Here’s what you need to know in order to find Plasteel Microflora Fiber and stock up for your next equipment upgrade.
Where to Look for Plasteel Microflora Fiber?
You won’t be finding this material lying about in the desert. Plasteel Microflora Fiber is only found in certain chests within Shipwrecks and Great House Ruins throughout Arrakis.
If you’re still in the starting area, the Hagga Basin South, your primary objective is the Wreck of the Alcyon. This huge sand-covered wreck is just east of Griffin’s Reach Tradepost and can’t be missed. You’ll have to use a Sandbike if you want to arrive there quickly, since the journey is rather long by foot.
All Chest Locations in the Wreck of the Alcyon
Once within the wreckage, keep a watchful eye out for three important chests of Plasteel Microflora Fiber:
Chest 1
Proceed directly in from the main door until you reach a door that you will have to scan and blow up. Within that room, search a long table where a chest is resting atop it.
Chest 2
In the command room, where you’ll find Ensign Meredith’s message, there’s a table with a glowing holographic globe. The chest is right there.
Chest 3
Right next to the final Pentashield barrier door, you’ll spot a large chest lit up with purple neon light. This one’s a jackpot—inside you’ll find not just Plasteel Microflora Fiber, but also Spice-Infused Copper Dust and the schematic for Kaleff’s Drinker, a unique dagger.
(Note: The same area as Chest 2 contains a Holtzman Amplifier in a nearby box. You’ll require it for the “Wrecking Crew” contract, so don’t overlook it.)
Can You Farm It?
Yes! While there aren’t many spots to get Plasteel Microflora Fiber early on, the upside is that these containers will respawn around 45 minutes. This means you can go back to the same shipwreck after a brief break and farm the fiber again.
Just remember that the material is highly sought after for many armor sets, so don’t be slow to grab it when it drops.
Whether you’re prepping for harder battles or simply want to appear even more hip in your new armor, a constant supply of Plasteel Microflora Fiber will be a lifesaver. So mount your Sandbike, head to the Wreck of the Alcyon, and get looting!
