Back 4 Blood is a 2021 thrilling survival horror game by Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. As the spiritual successor of Left 4 Dead, this game had attracted the players’ attention to a great extent even before the game was released. Recently, on 12th April 2022, the developers brought the first expansion of the game- Tunnels of Terror, with a lot of new weapons, cards, outfits, cleaners, etc.
The Ridden Hives are part of this new expansion of Back 4 Blood. This guide will help you know about Ridden Hives in Back 4 Blood.
Ridden Hives in Back 4 Blood – What are They?
Ridden Hives are the new levels introduced with the Tunnels of Terror, and players will get seven Ridden Hives in Back 4 Blood. After you purchased and installed the Tunnels of Terror, you can get the Ridden Hives as you progress through the campaign missions. As you progress through the game, you’ll eventually encounter bizarre blobs of meat and tendons, which has purple light behind them. These are the Ridden Hives. Once all of your teammates agree to enter the Hive, your previous level will be completed immediately, and you’ll start with the Ridden Hive.
These Ridden Hives are full of dangers. There are some new monsters whom you haven’t seen before. But taking the risk is worthy because you’ll get Skull Totems inside the Ridden Hives. But taking the Skull Totems is not everything you should do. You have to hold them in your hand while exiting the Hive to add them to your Totem Currency. Otherwise, you can’t get any benefits from collecting those tokens.
While proceeding through the Ridden Hives, look at the walls, and you’ll find those you can takedown. These walls are the source to get various items, including Skull Totems. Also, when you and your teammates agree to go to Ridden Hives and enter the Hive, the matchmaking will become disabled. Therefore, new players can easily join you. There are multiple exits of a Ridden Hive. If you successfully exit the Hive, you can take all the rewards with you, but if you die in the middle of the Hive, your progress will be lost, and you’ll have to start from the beginning.
That’s all you need to know about Ridden Hives and how you can find and progress through them in Back 4 Blood.
