Construction tasks can be fiddly at first, especially since you’re still learning the building system. The Under Another’s Roof hint wants you to complete a Four-Rafter House, and the game checks a few particular parts.
This walkthrough will take you through it all in plain language-what the quest checks for, how to get the pieces, and in what order to place them so that the job completes without headaches.

What the quest actually wants

It is considered complete when the Four-Rafter House has white walls, at least one window, and a door. If any of those are missing, the objective won’t be marked as finished, even if the roof looks right.
You may already have some of these parts from previous exploration; if so, you can make use of them directly. Otherwise, you have two easy options: salvage matching pieces from other nearby builds or craft the parts from the Construction Menu.
Two easy ways to get the parts

Reuse pieces from the world. If another structure has the same style of wall, window or door, you can take those pieces off and carry them back. This is quick if you can spot a suitable building nearby.
Make them yourself. Open your Inventory, select Bag and then press Square to enter the Construction Menu. From here, you can craft White Walls, Windows, and Doors, among other parts. This is the safer route if you do not want to dismantle other builds.

Using the Construction Menu without stress

The menu comprises a lot of items; that’s probably the reason it feels overwhelming. For this job, just focus on three items: the White Wall, one Window, and a Door. Check that you have enough basic materials before you start crafting so that you do not run out in the middle of your build.
Once crafted, the parts show up in Inventory and can be placed once you enter building mode.
How to place the parts- step by step

- Enter building mode at the Four-Rafter House.
- Ensure that the timber frame is in place.
- If walls are missing, add White Walls first so the structure has enclosed sides.
- Take a window out of your inventory and place it into any valid wall slot.
- It does not have to look like every window you have ever seen, but if it snaps to the wall, then it counts.
- Finally, select the Door and place it at the house entrance.
Once the Door is installed and the required walls and a window are in place, the construction objective will be fulfilled, and the quest will update.

Tips for console players
Controller inputs can be a bit awkward when navigating through menus: if you’re getting stuck, go slow, open the Bag, craft the three parts, then place them in the order above.
If you accidentally remove the disguise or move a piece elsewhere, just go back and place it again. The game refunds materials when you replace items, so you are not punished for experimenting.
