Plain-Running Hunter is an exploration quest in Throne and Liberty (TL). Discover where to locate pathway torches, hunters, and wolf traps for the quest, along with the rewards you’ll earn. This guide will help you to locate torches, hunters and traps located in Throne and Liberty.
What are Dynamic Events in Throne and Liberty
Dynamic events in Throne and Liberty are similar to events in other MMORPGs – they occur at specific locations and times. Unlike many other games, they’re not entirely random; there are clues to help you know when they’ll happen, so you can return when you’re ready to join in. However, it can be a bit confusing because the map shows where they are but doesn’t explain how to trigger them. The first dynamic event that you will encounter is the Wolf Hunting Contest.
How to find Pathway Torches in Throne and Liberty
You can find Pathway Torches along the leftmost road in Blackhowl Plains. While the quest may show their locations on the map, you can also discover them outside the areas marked for the quest. When you come across a Pathway Torch, interact with it by pressing the ‘F’ key to either light it up or put it out, depending on whether it’s already lit.
Plain-Running Hunter Quest
To complete the Plain-Running Hunter quest, start by lighting or extinguishing a Pathway Torch. Next, help a Hunter who is fighting off wolves and collect your Hunter’s Reward once they’re safe. Finally, operate the Wolf Trap to defend it from any attacking wolves, and then interact with it again to finish the objective.
Hunters in Plain-Running Hunter Quest
Hunters appear randomly throughout Blackhowl Plains. They’re easy to spot thanks to their brown capes and are often seen battling one to three wolves at a time. When you find a Hunter in trouble, be sure to rescue them quickly, if you wait too long, the wolves might defeat them. After rescuing the Hunter, they’ll give you a Hunter’s Pouch as a reward. Interact with it to finish the objective.
Traps Locations in Throne and Liberty
You can find Wolf Traps scattered throughout Blackhowl Plains. The easiest one to reach is located to the east of the Blackhowl Plains Waypoint. When you locate a Wolf Trap, just interact with it to operate it. After you activate the Wolf Trap, be ready for nearby wolves to attack it. You’ll need to defend the trap by defeating the attacking wolves for a set amount of time. Once the ambush is over, interact with the Wolf Trap again to complete the objective.
How to complete the Wolf Hunting Contest in Thorne and Liberty
The first dynamic event you’ll probably encounter is the Wolf Hunting Contest, which is tied to the main story. In the Blackhowl Plains area, you’ll need to complete this contest as part of the Exploration Codex objectives. As mentioned earlier, this event starts every three hours. At the top of the hour, the NPC Hobs will announce a five-minute countdown. Once the timer hits zero, rush around the Blackhowl Plains and try to kill as many wolves as possible to collect their tails. After gathering the tails, you’ll need to deposit them into bins. Keep in mind that once a bin is full, you can’t use it anymore, so you’ll have to find another one.
The more tails you deposit, the more rewards you’ll earn, like Armor Growthstones. However, it can be challenging because if another player attacks a wolf first, you won’t be able to claim its tail. You’ll notice this when the wolf’s name and health bar turn gray. Additionally, many players use wolf-like morphs to move around, making it tough to spot the wolves you need to kill. The top performers will receive extra rewards, and the event lasts for 20 minutes.
