In Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, the College level—naturally carried over from THPS 4—provides a mix of classic design and tricky updated challenges. One of the early objectives that can surprise even veteran players is the Boneless Spine Transfer Between the Courts. This objective involves carefully doing two distinct mechanics: the Boneless trick and the Spine Transfer, while navigating a ramp in between the basketball and tennis courts.
If you find yourself having trouble nailing the combo, below is a simple walkthrough for how to land the combo and mark this challenge off your list.
Knowing the Trick: Boneless + Spine Transfer

In order to get this done, you must string together two moves in one smooth action:
- Boneless: A more extreme version of a standard ollie, employed to achieve greater height. Press Up, Up, then X (PlayStation) / A (Xbox) rapidly before flying out of the ramp.
- Spine Transfer: This allows you to transition from one ramp or quarter pipe to the other side behind it in midair. Press R2 (PlayStation) / RT (Xbox) airborne while flying over the spine or ramp divider.
Mastering each one by itself will allow you to string them together better within the goal.
Where to Do the Trick

Once you’ve spawned into the College level on the THPS 4 Skate Tour, use the following instructions:
Go Left from Spawn Point
From the initial default spawn point, turn left until you are at the basketball courts. Next to them lies a tennis court by a quarter pipe ramp which connects the two facilities.
Approach the Ramp with Speed
Hold down X (PlayStation) / A (Xbox) to gain speed. You’ll need this to clear the ramp and complete the spine transfer successfully.
Perform the Boneless into the Spine Transfer
While you are on the way to the ramp, near the apex, rapidly press Up, Up, X/A in order to initiate a Boneless. This will give you a bigger vertical.
Initiate the Spine Transfer Midair
While you’re in the air—preferably over the spine—press R2/RT to execute the Spine Transfer and transition nicely onto the ramp on the opposite side.
If executed properly, your skater will soar off the basketball court ramp, pull off the Boneless trick, and transfer across the spine into the tennis court section. A goal achieved message will pop up once it registers.
This combo isn’t just flashy—it’s a great example of how THPS 3+4 challenges players to master old-school mechanics within the fluid, combo-driven gameplay the series is known for. Completing the Boneless Spine Transfer Between the Courts not only progresses your Skate Tour but also helps solidify your skills for harder transfer tricks later in the game.
