The Cruise Ship level in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4—the last stage of the THPS 3 campaign—boasts a number of difficult and esoteric objectives. Among them is the goal to lift the ferry, a puzzling task that not only opens up progress but also gives access to a secret Iron Galaxy logo. The solution to this objective can be found by finding a toolbox, cunningly hidden on the ship.
How to Help Raise The Ferry?
Finding the Toolbox
First, find the ferry control panel on the lower deck close to the repairman. As you get near him, a message will pop up saying that the ferry can’t be fixed without a toolbox. Although it appears that the toolbox is well-hidden somewhere far off, it’s actually just nearby—on a raised platform just behind and above the repairman’s position.
To access this platform, there needs to be some speed and accuracy. A safe approach is by accumulating your special meter to maximum acceleration. Begin by skating along the ship’s length until you can access the climbing wall, indicated by the ‘Cruise Climb’ sign.
Reaching the Platform
Use the halfpipe nearby to get speed, then wallride up the climbing wall and jump towards the rail under the sign. Grind that rail and be prepared to immediately jump off onto the elevated platform when you’re reaching the end.
Landing here can be tricky—the ledge is narrow and it’s easy to overshoot.
Once you’re on solid ground, follow the short ramp leading to a second platform. On this next ledge, you’ll find the orange toolbox resting near the edge. Simply skate into it to collect the item, triggering a confirmation message: “You found a toolbox!” A toolbox icon will also appear on your HUD.
Completing the Objective
With the toolbox in possession, go back to the repairman—he’s situated just beneath the platform where you recovered the item. As you go up to him, a cutscene will activate of the ferry going up into position. Not only does this finish the challenge, but it also provides access to the Iron Galaxy logo, which can now be picked up from the newly elevated platform.
The Raise the Ferry challenge is only one of several sneaky difficult goals spread throughout the Cruise Ship level. Once done, you’ll be that much closer to 100% completion.
