If you like puzzles, The Medium has just the right amount to make it an amazing game. One of the very first puzzles you encounter in the game unlocks the door of the Niwa Resort Hotel. The hotel is also part of the main story, so, in order to progress you’ll have to unlock the door by solving the puzzle. You don’t have to go looking for the hotel or the door. Soon after you get the mysterious phone call and follow the footsteps using your Insight ability, you will reach the door of the hotel. How to Unlock the Door to the Niwa Hotel in The Medium
When you get to the Niwa Hotel’s door, you’ll realize it closed with chains on the door. There is no way to force enter the hotel. Without wasting your effort there, head to the car park. To get to the car park, go to the payphone and take a left turn.
When you reach the car park, you’ll notice an abandoned car. Open the hood of the car using the switch on the left side of the steering wheel. In the trunk of the car, you’ll find a screwdriver. You can use the screwdriver as a makeshift handle for the door. While searching for the car, you’ll also find the Groundskeeper’s Postcards Memo’s titled “Honest Work”. Collect that as well, although you don’t need it to unlock the Niwa Hotel door.
Take the screwdriver back and use it on the door on the right with the missing handle. Once you have opened the door, push the dumpster outside so you can reach the ledge when you climb on it.
