10 October
The First Descendant servers are scheduled to go down today for 7 hours on 09 & 10 October at the below times.

The downtime is for the rollout of Update 1.1.4 and new cosmetics. The patch also brings a range of bug fixes introduced in the Season 1 update.
26 September
The First Descendant servers are down for the rollout of a hotfix. The downtime started at 09.26.2024 (Thu) at 00:00 PDT. At the time, there is no info on when the servers will be back up. Follow us on X to stay updated on the servers always.
12 September
There is no planned maintenance today; although we are getting a patch. The number of reports with errors logging into the game suggests the servers are down.
Update 30 August
Descendants, We have noticed that game connections are temporarily unavailable. Details – Game connection error We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this error. We are promptly working to identify the cause and resolve it. Once it’s resolved, we will make a prompt notice.
We have identified a network issue, and our development team has implemented a temporary fix. We are currently monitoring the situation for any anomalies.
Update 28-29 August

Update 13 August 2024 02:15 PM PDT: The servers seem to be down, but there is no announced maintenance. The current situation may be a server glitch or something caused by background maintenance. Stay tuned as we find more information.
Since the 1.0.7 Hotfix, a lot of players are getting the shader crash or a general crash, but it’s not due to a fault with the servers as the majority can play the game.
Update 08 August, 2024: The game is bricking for users. For some players, the game is freezing, they are getting a black screen and similar issues. The large number of players with the same issue suggests a problem with the servers.
There is no official maintenance ongoing for the game. The current situation may be a server glitch or something caused by background maintenance. Stay tuned as we find more information.
Fix – There is no fix on the users end at the moment, but you can try verifying the game files and updating the GPU drivers to the latest. If the game still does not work, try the below fix:
- Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%/M1/Saved
- Find M1_PCD3D_SM6.upipelinecache
- Rename it M1_PCD3D_SM6.old
- Try launching the game.
Update 02 August, 2024: Servers will be down today for the rollout of hotfix 1.0.6. The game will be down during maintenance. The details of the maintenance will be updated here or you can follow us on X for the update.
Update 08 July 2024: The First Descendant servers are down for maintenance and will remain down until until 05:00 PDT.

How to Check The First Descendant Server Status
Server issues are one of the most annoying problems, but they are unavoidable. Not only The First Descendant but almost every online game faces this problem. However, if you face some login problems in The First Descendant, they may cause by server down issues or other reasons. No matter what the reason is, you should know the cause; so first, check whether the servers are running properly or not. To check the server status of The First Descendant, there are a few ways-
- Visit the Official Twitter Account of The First Descendant to check if the developers have posted something regarding the maintenance program or if other players have complained about the same issue you are encountering. Generally, if any maintenance program is scheduled, developers inform players beforehand through Twitter.
- Alternatively, you can go to the Nexon Games’ Official Site to check if the servers are running properly. If the servers are really down, you will probably find information there.
- Alternatively, you can check the Steam Community for The First Descendant to see if there is some information about server issues in the game.
The First Descendant Beta is still new and doesn’t have many ways to check the game’s server status. Unfortunately, one of the most important ways to check any game’s server status- Downdetector, is not available right now.
