This choice occurs during the “Hidden Archive” quest in the Syndicate storyline. Hidden Archive is a quick mission in the Syndicate storyline of Star Wars Outlaws. While short, it can be a great way to quickly boost your reputation with a Syndicate. However, be prepared to betray another Syndicate in the process. If you agree, this mission can be a rewarding side quest.
Where to Start the Hidden Archive Quest
Hidden Archive becomes available soon after you finish the mission called The Safecracker. It’s similar to another Syndicate mission called Passenger. You’ll get a call from a character named Mayiu, who you can find at the very southern end of Kijima City, near the Ashiga Clan’s base.
Mayiu will tell you that the Ashiga Clan is interested in some secret data from the Crimson Dawn. To find this data, you’ll need to spy on some Stormtroopers in the Thieves’ Quarter. You can find these Stormtroopers near a merchant named Selik Mynnabah. To spy on them, stand by the wall grate on their left side.
The Imperial Officer you’re looking for is in the alley that the Stormtroopers are guarding. You can walk past the Stormtroopers and enter the small entrance without them stopping you. This area belongs to the Crimson Dawn. If your reputation with them isn’t good, you can hide behind the wall and send your droid, Nix, to steal the datapad without being seen. The Officer you want to steal from is standing near a fallen Stormtrooper.
The secret archive is located in space, so fly back to your ship, the Trailblazer, and head to Kijimi Orbit. The archive is hidden deep within the Kijimi Nebula. Be careful as you fly through this area, as there’s a lot of debris that you could crash into. Once you reach the archive, you’ll find it’s protected by a powerful energy shield. To deactivate this shield, you’ll need to destroy three generators that are marked on your map. After destroying the generators, you can enter the archive and download the secret data onto your ship. Once you have the data, the Crimson Dawn will contact you and ask you to decide who to give it to.
Should you Delete or Save the Archive?
If you destroy the archive, you will earn a lot of credits as a reward from Crimson Dawn. Crimson Dawn’s reputation with you will go way up, even to maximum. The Ashiga Clan will be outraged by your betrayal, and your reputation with them will severely drop, possibly all the way to the bottom.
If you choose to save the archive, you’ll fulfill your promise to Mayiu, and she’ll reward you with credits and boost your reputation with the Ashiga Clan. However, betraying the Crimson Dawn will negatively impact your reputation with them, though not as severely as betraying the Ashiga Clan would.
No matter what you decide, you’ll need to escape the Imperials who are following you. Once they’re gone, Kay will contact Mayiu and tell her what you’ve chosen, finishing the mission.
What should you choose?
If you delete the archive, you’ll get more credits when the mission is over, but you’ll lose a lot of reputation with the Ashiga Clan. Unless you really want to keep a good relationship with the Crimson Dawn, saving the archive for Mayiu is the better choice. The Ashiga Clan’s highest reward is a set of gear that cools down your blaster when you take down enemies with low health. This gear works well with other items that help you when your health is low.
