In “Star Wars Outlaws,” Kay’s reputation with various crime syndicates is among the most critical aspects of her gameplay. While there are many ways through which her reputation can be influenced, some story events can bring in a high degree of change in that way. One choice deals with supporting the Ashiga Queen or her daughter, Krisk, who is associated with Crimson Dawn. This likely determines which syndicate Kay will align herself with early on in the game.
In the “The Hive” mission on Kijimi in “Star Wars Outlaws,” Kay must decide whether the Ashiga Origin Strand goes to the Queen or to her rebellious daughter Krisk. Immediately, the game throws players into a gray area wherein one option does not outweigh another. The following guide will go over what might happen with each choice and offer some perspective on what might be the better one.
Should I choose Queen Ashiga or Krisk to receive the Strand?
At the end of “The Hive,” Kay must make a critical choice regarding the Origin Strand, an important Ashiga artifact. That is, assuming one only concerns themselves with the main storyline. It will be Krisk- the Queen’s daughter-and Qi’ra-the- the leader of Crimson Dawn- who will be the most direct driver of information leading to your decision.
Krisk claims that the Queen is allied with the Empire, which is a threat to the Ashiga clan, but the Queen denies such an alliance. This puts the player in a further dilemma since it is true that Crimson Dawn was Krisk’s ally and notorious within the criminal world.
Should Kay believe Krisk and Qi’ra that the Queen has allied herself with the Empire, or should she believe the Queen’s declaration of loyalty to the Ashiga clan?
The consequences of giving the Origin Strand to Krisk in Star Wars Outlaws
When Kay has to make a choice between the Queen and Krisk, Choosing Krisk shows a significant gain in Crimson Dawn’s reputation. This can quite quickly bring up Kay’s reputation level with the syndicate.
If she had already been collaborating with Crimson Dawn in “False Flag” by framing the Pykes, then going along with Krisk’s play would be the continuance of that relationship.
Immediately after Kay chooses Krisk, she murders the Queen and regains the throne. While Krisk considers this a necessary evil to ensure the Ashiga clan’s future, the game at least indicates that maybe that was not the right thing to do.
The consequences of giving the Origin Strand to Queen in Star Wars Outlaws
Choosing the Ashiga Queen will add much favor to Kay’s reputation within the clan. If you aim to help the Ashiga, this is a clear signal of the most preferred choice. The advantages are quite profound, and the popularity gain can easily translate to a whole new level for Kay.
Therefore, when Kay decides to give the Origin Strand to the Queen, Krisk will be killed by the royal guards. The Queen seems to offer Krisk a chance to back down, but that’s just a false pretense. Unfortunately, Kay cannot do anything to help and stands, witnessing Krisk’s death.
Who is the better choice: Queen Ashiga or Krisk?
Kay’s decision between the Queen and Krisk seems to not affect the conclusion of the main quest. Therefore, a player’s decision depends on his or her goals regarding alignment with a specific syndicate. Each syndicate has rewards for obtaining various tiers of reputation, factoring these into making your decision.
If Kay has a low reputation with the Ashiga or Crimson Dawn, consider joining that syndicate for a more accessible region to explore. Having a high reputation with as many syndicates as possible will greatly increase your ability to explore the world.
It doesn’t matter which one Kay decides upon; the ending with Qi’ra is the same, and Kay is demonstrably anguished at being a part of an execution. Qi’ra seems neither disappointed nor angered that Kay chose the Queen, and in the end, her plan seems to weaken the Ashiga by pitting the two against each other.
The best option for the player is to go with whichever increases Kay’s reputation with their favorite syndicate. It doesn’t seem to make much of a difference in the story, though, since it’s between Queen and Krisk.
