Fix Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 Black Screen Issue
Players have been sharing the potential fixes that helped them in solving this issue.
Move the Game to SSD
One player said that they managed to fix this black screen issue by moving Space Marine 2 to SSD instead of running it from an HDD.
One of the main reasons for the black screen issue is the game is being installed on an HHD. Space Marine 2 is designed to run on SSD due to the large amount of data and textures it needs to load quickly. HDDs aren’t fast enough.
If your game is installed on an HDD move it to an SSD. You can either transfer the game files or reinstall the game on the SSD.
Limit FPS
Another player successfully resolved this issue by limiting the game’s frame rate to 120 fps.
Open the in-game Settings > Set the maximum frame rate to 120 > Switch the display mode to windowed.
Disable Stream Overlays
Some players have pointed out that turning off the stream overlays or running the stream in offline mode can bypass the issue. However, players in offline mode will be prevented from access to multiplayer mode.
In-stream go to settings > In-game and uncheck the “Enable the stream overlay”.
Update Drivers
Check that your GPU Drivers are up to date, as outdated drivers could cause compatibility issues with Space Marine 2. To do this:
NVIDIA users can update their drivers via GeForce Experience.
AMD users can use the Radeon Software tool to update drivers.
Try Disabling VPNs
Some Players of Space Marine 2 reported that their VPN interferes with the game’s ability to load the data. Turn off the VPN to resolve the issue.
Run in Windowed Mode
Switching from full-screen to windowed mode helped players avoid the Black Screen Issue. This mode can help prevent your game from freezing and ease the resources loading.
Reinstall the Game
Some Space Marine 2 players suggested that downloading a clean installation helped them get past the Black Screen Issue. If the above solutions don’t work for you, this is the last option you can try.
If these fixes do not resolve the Black Screen issue, you can try reinstalling the game entirely or wait patiently until you hear something from the game’s developers.
