As you make your way through the spooky Derceto Manor in Alone in the Dark, you’ll uncover memories that can help you track down Jeremy. Along the way, you’ll come across all kinds of puzzles that stand in your way of reaching your next objective. Take, for example, the Telescope puzzle – it’s a three-part challenge that adds layers of fun to the gameplay. It might seem a bit tricky at first, but as you piece together each component, you’ll see how everything is cleverly leading you closer to the Dark Man. Let’s see in this guide how to solve Alone in the Dark Telescope Puzzle.
How to Solve Alone in the Dark Telescope Puzzle?
To start Alone in the Dark Telescope Puzzle, you will have to find a Palette Knife and Sitting Room Key after successfully searching for Jeremy in The Hateful Mound memory. The Palette Knife comes in handy for removing a wedge under a door in the Small Parlor, allowing you access to the Drawing Room. Inside the Drawing Room, you will also find the telescope’s manual which mentions the need for a Barlow Lens. You can find the Barlow Lens by opening Jeremy’s Steamer Trunk.
In the next stage of the game, you’ll get to explore a cool memory spot called Lafayette Cemetery. Once you finish this part, you’ll unlock the power to solve the telescope puzzle. Inside a trunk, you’ll discover the Barlow Lens, which is essential for the telescope in the Drawing Room. Attach the Barlow Lens to the telescope and get ready to solve the puzzle challenge.
First Part of the Puzzle
When you get the lens, simply put it into the telescope. At first, you might see a fuzzy constellation. In the first part of the puzzle, your objective is to form a complete picture of a constellation. Simply adjust the focus and rotate the lens until the stars near the center and bottom of the screen become white. Once you align the dots to overlap, the stars will change color.
When you see white stars coming together to form a constellation, keep an eye out for a big white star popping up on the right side of your screen. That’s a sign that you’re getting close to the end of the puzzle. To finish it off, just focus a bit more to make the stars even brighter. Once you do that, the first puzzle will be complete, forming a beautiful constellation that will transform the room around you.
Second Part of the Puzzle
There’s another second part of the puzzle waiting for you on the wall opposite the telescope. To figure out this new puzzle, simply adjust the image by moving each square piece. To begin the puzzle, connect the curves to form a spherical circle. Follow the below steps to complete the circle:
- Swap the first block with the third block in the first row.
- Swap the second block with the first block in the second row.
- Swap the second block with the third block in the third row.
- Swap the second block with the first block in the third row.
- Swap the third block in the second row with the first block in the first row.
- Swap the second block in the second row with the third block in the first row.
- Swap the second block in the second row with the second block in the first row.
- Lastly, swap the second block with the third block in the third row.
Once you finish connecting the circle in the picture, you’ll see the completed puzzle. After solving the puzzle, the glowing number 947 will pop up on the board. This number is essential for traveling to another memory with your Talisman. Remember to make your way to the Dining Room first to activate the Talisman and move the story along.
