You can increase the Friendship of any Pokémon in your party by just spending time with them and using them frequently in battles. You can make use of the Let’s Go feature to let them walk beside you. This way, they can fight other Pokémon without your orders and also gain confidence. You can also host Picnics for them anytime you wish to spend some quality time. You can start a Picnic anywhere in Paldea, and this is also a great way to craft sandwiches to get boosts. Giving your favorite Pokémon items like Soothe Bell can also help raise Friendship. And last, use them in a battle against trainers and wild Pokémon to start gaining their trust. All these methods will help you increase friendships with a Pokémon you own.

To check your Friendship levels, you have to head over to the NPC in Cascarrafa. Cascarrafa can be found in West Paldea, the same place where you can encounter Water Gym Leader Kofu. Head over to the center of the city to spot an NPC near a water fountain with their Marill. Talk to the NPC to get the Friendship Checker option.
