There are two ways you can unlock guns in Palworld. You can get guns for yourself, or get a Pal to use them instead. To get weapons for yourself, all you need to do is level up and use points to unlock recipes in the Tech menu. The first weapon you will get is the Old Bow at level 3, and the first gun you will unlock is the Musket at level 21. Besides that, you would also need crafting areas to create weapons and ammo. Initially, a High-Quality Workbench and a Weapon Workbench is enough to craft gunpowder, ammo, and weapons. But the further you level up and unlock more gun recipes, the better structures you would require. Also, tougher weapons require more rare resources and materials for crafting them

You can also equip guns on your Pals so they can use them in battle. Lifmunk’s Recoil ability and Foxparks’ Flamethrower ability require you to level up, unlock the recipes from the Tech tree, and gather the necessary materials to craft certain gear for them. You would also need the Pal Gear Workbench to craft the items, such as Foxpark’s Harness and Lifmunk SMG. Once you have those, you can use their ability as weapons. The only drawback to this is that since they don’t rely on ammo, they will enter a cooldown state once their ability is used.
