Alpha Astegon Location in Palworld
If you are heading out to defeat the boss Astegon, then make your way to the Destroyed Mine Shaft within the volcanic region. The exact coordinates are -612,-429, and you can quickly spot it since Alpha Pals are marked on the map. The closest waypoint is Mount Obsidian Midpoint, and from there travel west. You would need Heat Resistant gear and armor to make your way across.
To capture Astegon, you would need to craft Ultra and higher spheres, since this is a level 48 boss. You would also need weapons that can deal above 300 damage. Your weapons should be legendary and above tier for this. As for Pals, Water, Ice, or Dragon-type Pals can help defeat Astegon.
Astegon Location in Palworld
If you are looking for regular Astegon, they are mainly found in No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary. You would need a flying Pal to get there, since it is located at the northern section of the map, right at the northeastern corner. The closest waypoint is Deep Sand Dunes within the Desiccated Desert, but after that you have to either swim or fly across to reach the sanctuary. Astegons located here are level 40 and above, so you would again need Ultra Spheres and above to catch them. They are still of the Dark and Dragon type, so Ice, Water, and Dragon Pals can beat them. You would need legendary weapons or weapons that deal above 300 damage to hunt them.
How to Breed Astegon in Palworld
If you don’t want the hassle of finding Astegon, then you can breed two Pals to hatch Astegon. Below are the combinations for hatching Astegon.

Astegon Work Suitability and Partner Abilities
If you manage to capture Astegon and release it to your base, they can pick up Level 1 Handiwork and Level 4 Mining. Astegon is mostly sought after for its high mining suitability, so having them on your team is worth it. When used in battle, they can offer the Partner Skill Black Ankylosaur, which can deal more damage during ore mining while mounted. When killed, Astegon can drop Pal Metal Ingot and Pure Quartz
