To get the compact infrared indicator, make your way to the Blackheart Region. This is a late game desert area that you can explore after reaching level 45 and beyond. There are tons of tougher enemies here, but also you can farm plenty of rare resources that you won’t find anywhere else. Once you reach Blackheart Region, make your way to 2347, -227. This area is just west of Sunshine Farm. You need to make your way up the cliff here. There is a path that can take you up there or just climb up there too.
Look up at the sky and search for an eyeball floating up there. Usually it would be on the northside, but it can spawn anywhere within this area. Once you find it, shoot it down and it will start moving. Keep an eye on where it is heading, then shoot it again after it stops. Repeat this one more time and try not to lose sight of it, otherwise you have to start over. If done correctly, a loot crate will appear that contains the legendary compact infrared indicator.
