Shivering Isles was one of the major expansions (of the original) that came with Oblivion Remastered, and it includes new enemies, weapons, and armour sets. The Madness Armour is one of the most well-liked armour pieces in the Shivering Isles DLC due to its appearance and the great stats that it has.

Though it doesn’t require you to do so, it does request the players to gather Madness Ore, which is another unique resource material of the expansion. So, this guide will have everything you need to know to craft the Madness Armour for yourself.

How to Get the Madness Armour Set in Oblivion Remastered?

To get the Madness Armour in Oblivion Remastered, players will first need to start the Shivering Isles DLC. Players can start the expansion as soon as they exit the sewer tutorial area, but it’s advised that they level up and get some strong equipment before heading into the Shivering Isles.

First, you’ll need to visit the Strange Door POI east of Bravil. After some offbeat interaction with a couple of NPCs in front of the door, wait 24 hours, then pass through the portal to gain entry to the Shivering Isles.

Once you reach the location, head to the Crucible and go to the Cutter’s Weapons workshop. Talk to Cutter, and she’ll provide you with a recipe list of equipment pieces that you can craft using Madness Ore. The armour pieces you see on the list are part of the Madness Armour Set, and you’ll need a specific number of Madness Ores to craft the Madness Armour.

Where to Farm Madness Ores?

One of the best places to farm Madness Ores is within Blackroot Lairs, which are located in the Low Road area in Oblivion Remastered: Shivering Isles DLC. Enter one of the lairs, and the player will be in extensive and turning connecting caves full of Grummite enemies. Kill all the Grummites the player comes across while navigating through the cave for a chance of obtaining a Madness Ore.

Venture further inside the cave and kill different forms of the Grummite enemies to collect a minimum of 16 Madness Ores. Once you’re done, return to Cutter to craft the Madness Armour.

Crafting the Madness Armour Set

After returning to the Cutter weapon store in Crucible, select the “Forge Armour” option to start forging the Madness Armour in Oblivion Remastered. You’ll need to forge the pieces separately using the number of Madness Ores required. The following is the number of Madness Ores needed for each piece of Madness Armour.
