Daedric Princes in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered offer unique quests for individual offerings to their shrines. The quests often reward players with powerful Daedric Artefacts upon completion.
Sheogorath’s quest, offered by the Daedric Prince of Madness, is one of the wackiest and most entertaining things in the game. You will need to acquire odd offerings first before you can begin calling Sheogorath to his shrine.
Starting the Quest

Finding Sheogorath’s Shrine
Sheogorath’s Shrine is located southeast of Bravil, north-northwest of Leyawiin, and off the roads. When you arrive, speak with Ferul Ravel, the caretaker at the shrine.
Offering Requirements
You must be level 2 and possess the following items in order to call Sheogorath:
Lesser Soul Gem – They can be found in chests, enemy drops, or purchased at magic-selling shops like Edgar’s Discount Spells found in the Imperial City.
Lettuce – Typically at home, barrels, or bought at inns like the Merchant’s Inn.
Yarn – In houses or inside storage containers in the Imperial City Market District.
Once you get these, approach the shrine to start the quest.
Completing the Quest

Meeting the Shaman
Sheogorath instructs you to go to Border Watch, the local town, and speak with Ri’Bassa, the Khajiit shaman, about the K’Sharra Prophecy. If you ask him why you’re interested, pretending to be a travelling scholar will get Ri’Bassa receptive.
If you mock the prophecy, his demeanour drops, and you must convince him.
Ri’Bassa illustrates the first two portents of the prophecy to you:
- There’ll be a plague of rats scouring the village.
- All of the cattle will suddenly die out.
- He refuses to show you the third sign, implying it is the apocalypse.
Activating the First Sign (Rodent Infestation)
Approach the owner of Border Watch Inn, who keeps a cheese collection.
She informs you that Olroy Cheese, stored on a glass display stand, summons rats when cooked.
Take the key or pick the lock to steal the cheese.
Drops the cheese into the cooking pan outside the inn, summoning massive swarms of rats.
Triggering the Second Sign (Death of Livestock)
After the rat infestation, Ri’Bassa spreads rat poison across town.
Harvest the poison and place it in the sheep trough.
Wait a few hours—the sheep will definitely die.
The Final Cataclysm

When the sheep are dead, Sheogorath’s voice instructs you to remain in the middle of the village.
- The sky is filled with blood.
- Inferno wolf corpses fall from the sky, frightening the villagers.
- The prophecy is fulfilled—chaos erupts.
Reward: The Wabbajack
Return to Sheogorath’s Shrine to claim your reward:
- Wabbajack – A random wand that can turn enemies into a random monster for 10 seconds.
Good to cast on difficult enemies, and can even turn them into friendly monsters.
