Story of Modern Warfare 2

Captain Price was organizing Task Force 141 to face the danger presented by Zakhaev junior when we last checked in with him at the end of Modern Warfare 2019. Three years later, Modern Warfare 2 opened up with 141 fully established and operating globally.

While plot specifics are few for the moment, Modern Warfare 2’s scenario begins after a US attack kills a foreign commander. This nation vows vengeance, and Task Force 141 joins forces with Mexican Special Forces to counter the danger.

Ghost frequently works as a “one-man army” who “won’t see eye to eye with the rest” in Task Force 141, which isn’t the close-knit team we’d anticipate. After learning that the terrorist group Al-Qatala is collaborating with the Mexican drug cartel ‘Las Alamas,’ Ghost decides he can’t do it alone and seeks assistance from Colonel Alejandro Vargas of the Mexican Special Forces.

Task Force 141 will travel worldwide during the campaign, visiting the Middle East, Europe, Mexico, and the United States. The campaign in Modern Warfare 2019 was supposed to be “provocative” and put players in awkward situations, while in Modern Warfare 2, Task Force 141 does “heroic and badass things,” but they’re “people, not superheroes.”

Characters in Modern Warfare 2

Following are the characters present in the Modern Warfare 2 game:

Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick

After Al-raid Qatala’s on Picadilly Circus in Modern Warfare 2019, Sergeant Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick joined Captain Price’s Bravo Team. Gaz was Price’s first pick to join Task Force 141 after sticking with him during the operation to collect the stolen chemical weapons.

Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley

The only thing known about Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley is that he is a lone wolf who does not always agree with the rest of Task Force 141. During the campaign, Ghost realizes he can’t always be a one-man army and recruits Vargas.

Captain John Price

SAS Captain John Price leads Task Force 141 and has a difficult relationship with authority, frequently preferring to do things his own, sometimes unconventional, way. Price has his own moral compass, realizing that combat isn’t always black and white, as he stated in MW 2019: “One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom warrior.”

Graves

Graves will be another new character in Modern Warfare 2. Graves is a private military contractor of Shadow Company who is described as an ally to Task Force 141. In 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, Shadow Company assisted General Shepherd in betraying Task Force 141, but with the new timeframe and continuity, we’ll have to wait and see if they can be trusted.

Kate Laswell

Kate Laswell was the Supervisor of the CIA’s Special Activities Division in Modern Warfare 2019 and closely connected with Price, allowing him authorization to organise Task Force 141. In Modern Warfare 2, Laswell is a CIA Station Chief and will be sent with Task Force 141.

Missions in Modern Warfare 2

Following are the missions in the Modern Warfare 2 game:

Wet Work

Although long-time Call of Duty fans will remember ‘Wet Work’ as a multiplayer map, it’s really a campaign level in Modern Warfare 2 that showcases the new swimming and water features.

Wet Work is a stealth-based mission set in Amsterdam in which the player controls Gaz as he and Price investigate who is smuggling on behalf of terrorists. Price advises Gaz to stick to utilizing knives to make things discreet because much of the Wet Work takes place underwater. Gaz walks about the area quietly, killing opponents one by one, bringing them down under the water for a stealthy death.

This level has various diverse mechanics, such as the cliffhanger and underwater shooting. It concludes when Price and Gaz learn that the terrorists are smuggling items through the Mexican Cartel, ‘Las Alamas.’

Nightwar

Nightwar is an action-packed campaign mission in Modern Warfare 2 in which the player controls Soap. This mission occurs at night when an allied helicopter crashes into the region as Task Force 141 approaches. 141 rushes to secure the crashed chopper after clearing out a building full of terrorists using night vision.

The operation finishes with a missile striking the helicopter as it is surrounded by a swarm of hostiles.

Tower

The Tower task in Modern Warfare 2 takes set in a large metropolis, but we don’t know which one. In this level, players rappel down the side of a structure, choosing whether to drop head first or feet first. This mission allows players to approach it uniquely, with a range of distinct play styles demonstrated.

Vehicle-based Mission

Although its exact name is unknown, the fourth mission displayed was vehicle-based, with the player battling in and out of cars in convoy in Mexico. This challenge showcases all new vehicle features, allowing players to blast out windows, climb on vehicle roofs, and even take over other cars while driving. The developers stated that the player might drive any vehicle. Thus, this is building up to be one of the most cinematic missions in the game.

Later in the campaign, a level similar to All Ghillied Up will appear in which the player dons a ghillie suit and partners up with Price for some long-distance shooting. The developers stated that after working on Warzone, they would be able to create large areas.
