WASHINGTON, D.C.
Washington, D.C. (District of Columbia) is the capital city of the United States and home to several nationally renowned museums, monuments, and works of architecture. Located 30 miles west of Chesapeake Bay, DC borders Maryland to its west, north, and east, and Virginia on its south along the Potomac River. Washington D.C. offers some of the most renowned sights in the world, significant for their history and architectural beauty, including the United States Capitol, the Lincoln Memorial, and the National Mall.
The update covers several locations surrounding Washington, D.C., including the Virginia cities of Gainesville, Bristow, Stafford, and Fairfax and the Maryland cities of Frederick and Annapolis, home of the United States Naval Academy.
BUFFALO, NEW YORK:
Buffalo is located in western New York state on the shores of Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes. It is the second most populous city in the state after the greater New York City metropolitan area. Rooted in grain transport due to the Erie Canal, Buffalo today enjoys a thriving economy with several thriving industries, including automotive, healthcare, and technology. Spectacular sights in Buffalo include the Peace Bridge, the Rand Building, and the Seneca One Tower.
ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA:
Located in eastern Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, and 75 miles to the west of New York City, simmers will find Allentown. Originally settled in 1751 and founded in 1762, Allentown is one the oldest cities in the United States and today is the third largest metropolitan area in Pennsylvania. Allentown, including its suburbs like Whitehall, has a wide range of historic and modern sights like the city center, Coca- Cola Park, and the Malcolm Gross Rose Garden.
LONG ISLAND’S EAST END:
The East End of Long Island, located roughly 80 miles east of New York City, is home to The Hamptons, a renowned seaside retreat area that includes the village of Southampton. Founded in 1640, Southampton is one of the oldest settlements in the United States. Rich in history and colonial architecture, Southampton and surrounding East End locations offer vistas of expansive beaches, small bays, and patchworks of farmland.
